Dwayne Johnson Reveals 2022 Release Date For ‘Black Adam’ In Massive Fashion
“The Rock” made a huge announcement unveiling the release date for his DCEU superhero film, ‘Black Adam’ during one of America’s largest sporting events.
Audiences have been heavily anticipating the release of the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-led superhero film ‘Black Adam’ since it was originally announced in 2014. After ‘Shazam!’ premiered in 2017, circulation began to grow for the prequel, and Warner Brothers finally began to move forward with the project. Things have picked up immensely over the last year, putting together all of the pieces and it seems it’s finally time for production on the film to move forward.
“The Rock” first took to social media, keeping fans on their toes about an eventual announcement.
"Word on the street is that Black Adam, himself is making an announcement today," continuing, "Let’s see what he has in store as the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change. Stay tuned."
Hours later, in the most over the top fashion, Johnson revealed a major announcement. He announced, using a TV spot that premiered during an NCAA tournament game and NYC’s Times Square as a massive aid, the official release date for ‘Black Adam’: July 29, 2022.
In this promotion, you can hear his voice loudly declare, “The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change.”
‘Black Adam’ is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. It also stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Adam Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and the newest addition, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, rounding out the cast.
Warner Bros. recently put into effect a 45-day theatrical release period for their upcoming 2022 slate, already reversing their current approach of Theatrical/HBO Max hybrid release. ‘Black Adam’ will most-notably be competing with ‘Indiana Jones 5’ at the box office.
